I have never been able to use a powder dishwasher cleaner because I have a septic tank. The liquid I had to use always left a discolor on my silverwear. With the Shaklee powders being all natural they totally dissolve in the water. I now use the powder for my dishwasher and no more discolor. One bag has also lasted forever. I still use Shaklee liquid in my front loading washer but the bottle has lasted for 8 months and completely reduces the suds and break down of the my clothes. LOVE THEM BOTH!!!
I haven't had the opportunity to use the Shaklee products but I suspect that they are both superior and safer for the environment. What I have done though is to experiment with products that are intended for one use and apply them to others. For instance, dry dishwashing detergent mixed into a slightly thick slurry does a great job on cleaning grills and semi-dirty auto parts.
